In a much-anticipated release, the pan-India heist thriller 'Japan,' starring Karthi and directed by Raju Murugan of 'Joker' fame, has finally graced the silver screen. The film, made on a substantial budget, features Anu Emmanuel as the leading lady and has garnered attention with its impressive teaser, trailer, and soul-stirring songs.

Annapurna Studios has undertaken the release of 'Japan' in the Telugu states on November 10th, and the initial reviews suggest a warm reception from audiences. The film finds itself in competition with 'Jigarthanda double x,' directed by Karthik Subburaj, and 'Raid' starring Vikram Prabhu, directed by Karthik.

The director of 'Japan,' Raju Murugan, a journalist-turned-director and a national award recipient for 'Joker'.. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, known for delivering memorable films like 'Joker,' 'Kaithi,' and 'Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru,' 'Japan' boasts a captivating musical score by GV Prakash.

In a recent interaction with the media, director Raju Murugan revealed the inspiration behind the film, stating, "Karthi was the one who motivated me to write the story of Japan. There were no big heroes in my earlier films. Karthi is a good friend of mine. When I met him, he promised to do a project with me if I wrote a good story with good humor. He motivated me to do this film. When a film is made with big heroes like Karthi Garu, the message reaches the audience on a massive scale."

Describing 'Japan' as a character-driven film, Raju Murugan emphasized that he crafted the story with Karthi in mind. Producers Prabhu and Prakash, longstanding friends, who have been associated with the director since the movie 'Joker.'
