Actor Karthi starrer ‘Viruman’ has finally hit the theatres on Friday - August 12. The movie is reportedly getting screened in 425 theatres in the state. As fans throng the theatres to relish their favourite thespian, the early reviews about the movie have started pouring in across social media. 

While a few netizens are impressed with debutant Aditi Shankar's performance, others are praising Yuvan Shankar Raja's back-to-the-form music through this family entertainer flick. As per film critics, the film runs for 1 hr 28 minutes in the first half while the second half portion runs for 1 hr 2 minutes. Film buffs say Karthik's opening is highest on cards and the second half prominently focuses on father and son loggerheads.

In the line of hearty wishes to the team from several celebrities, popular filmmaker Pandiraj, who helmed Kadaikutty Singam, took to Twitter and wished the entire crew. He wrote, "Wishing Karthi sir for adding another hit card on the list. Welcome, Aditi Shankar. My Best wishes to the entire team for Viruman release."

Quoting about the first reactions from the film buffs, it seems pretty positive as one user wrote: "#Viruman - Sure shot blockbuster  #Karthi is terrific throughout the film with some great scores from #YSR...Paisa vasool", where another cinephile writes, "#Viruman Wonderful making  Karthi na ne mass na.  Haters better luck next time: some are trying to spread avg reviews" and another user wrote, "#Viruman  Sure shot family entertainment with Beautiful scenes. Actor Suriya wrote, "Karthi's Viruman will be a wholesome family entertainer and we trust will be remembered for Long..! Special welcome to Aditi Shankar!! We need all your love!!!. Another film critic wrote, "Viruman first half - director Muthaiya has rightly packaged the film with an emotional undercurrent. Karthi looks like a fire & also proves his acting prowess in emotionally charged scenes. Aditi Shankar makes an impressive debut. Soori's one-liners are superb (sic). Going good." Viruman, the rustic family entertainer stars Karthi and Aditi Shankar in lead, where Prakash Raj plays Karthi's father and Soori serves as his companion.

Proficient actors, including Raj Kiran, Singampuli, Robo Shankar, Karunas, Manoj Bharathi, RK Suresh, Saranya Ponvannan, and Vadivukkarasi, are part of an ensemble cast. The Yuvan Shankar Raja-composed movie Viruman is produced by the Jyotika and Suriya-led production company 2D Entertainment. As Viruman is out, Karthi eagerly awaits the release of Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan in which he played a key role.
