Actor Karthi's "Sardar" opened in theatres on Friday, October 21. After Viruman, and Vandhiyathevan avatars for Muthaiyah and Manirathnam respectively, this versatile actor is being cherished by buffs for his Sardar. Helmed by PS Mithran, the film is already clashing with Sivakarthikeyan's Prince, directed by Anudeep KV.
Popular film critics and analysts wrote that the first half is 'well researched' and 'informative'. They said that the movie is very gripping and informative and Karthi scores big in the interval bang with his look and superbly choreographed action scene. Another critic said that Sardar is a satisfying action thriller that effectively marries an espionage entertainer and a message film. Karthi is in top form and is one of the most impressive films to date. Sardar marks Hindi actor Chunky Pandey's debut in Tamil cinema and it also marks the comeback of popular actress Laila after 16 years.
Sardar is bankrolled by Lakshman Kumar under his banner 'Prince Pictures'. While Karthi plays the lead role, Chunky Pandey, Rajisha Vijayan, Raashii Khanna, Laila, Murali Sharma, Munishkanth, and Ilavarasu will play important roles. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music and Sardar is distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies.
