The much-awaited action thriller ‘Leo’, starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, is all set to hit the screens on October 19, 2023. However, the fans in Tamil Nadu will have to wait a little longer than the rest of the world to catch the first glimpse of their idol on the big screen.

The Tamil Nadu government has issued a new order that restricts the timings of the special shows for ‘Leo’ from 9 a.m. to 1.30 a.m. This means that there will be no early morning shows for the film in the state, unlike in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Pondicherry, where the film will be screened at 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. before the regular shows.

This has disappointed the loyal fan base, who were eagerly looking forward to celebrating their hero’s film with pomp and fervour. The fans had hoped that the government would allow the same 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. show modules that were followed for Vijay’s previous films.

Earlier the state government granted permission to screen special shows for Leo for six days, from 19th to 24th October, in relaxation of the usual rules. This paved the way for the fans to hope that they can watch Leo as early as 4 am on the release day, and enjoy up to five shows per day till October 24. However, the new order has dashed their hopes and left them feeling dejected.

The new order mentioned that "in Tamil Nadu under your jurisdiction, to allow screening of one special show for the Tamil film titled "LEO" on 19.10.2023, 20.10.2023, 21.10.2023, 22.10.2023, 23.10.2023 and 24.10.2023 (i.e maximum 5 shows per day). All Theatres can screen only one special show, opening show will start at 9:00am and last show will end at 1.30am."

‘Leo’ is expected to be a blockbuster film that showcases Vijay’s charisma and versatility as an actor. The film is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is known for his innovative and gripping storytelling. The film boasts of an ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, Priya Anand, Arjun, and Mansoor Ali Khan. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who has delivered some chartbuster songs for the film.

The film is produced by Lalit Kumar and co-produced by Jagadish Palanisamy under the banner of Seven Screen Studio. The film has been shot by Manoj Paramahamsa, edited by Philomin Raj, and choreographed by Dinesh. The action sequences have been designed by Anbariv, who have promised some jaw-dropping stunts in the film. The art direction is done by N. Sathees Kumar, who has created a realistic and captivating world for the film.
