The long wait is over...Vikram hits the big screens: Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's movie opens to a mass reception!

A long wait of Tamil fans has come to an end on Friday - June 3 as the much-expected movie 'Vikram' has released across and beyond the borders. Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's movie has opened to a mass reception with the fans celebrating the release and thronging the cinema halls in several cities to relish seeing the legendary actor on the big screens after four years. 

Thanks to director Lokesh Kanagaraj for the spectacular confluence of bringing big stars on a single screen. Kamal Haasan's game has Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil, while actor Suriya plays a cameo role. With a stupendous scale of remarks, the fans praise Lokesh Kanagaraj for his yet another victory in bringing an ensemble cast and delivering it brilliantly to the audience. 

With more positive reviews, Lokesh marks his fourth consecutive hit after 'Maanagaram', 'Kaithi', and 'Master'. Vikram had rich promotions ahead of the release and several theatres in Chennai were flooded with the fans from the wee hours of Friday as they had gathered to spectacle Vikram in First Day First Show (FDFS). Director Lokesh Kanagaraj and movie's music composer Anirudh had joined the fans and watched the movie in a theatre in Chennai at 4 am. 

The fans had poured a rousing welcome to the movie and most of them expressed that their long wait was worth it. They had recorded that the movie had showered several moments of goosebumps and through Vikram, Kamal Haasan is back with more zeal and zazzy. Most of the theatres in Chennai and across Tamil Nadu ran out of tickets as every show has been booked to its entirety. 

Social media has been overflown with the posters of the movie and celebrations of the fans and it was vividly evident that Vikram has a great level of welcome. Hundreds and thousands of fans relish the movie for a slew of reasons - for Kamal Haasan, for Lokesh Kanagaraj, for Vijay Sethupathi, and for its storyline. The fans say that Vikram was not a hero-centric and it was from the mind and pure style of Lokesh Kanagaraj. He has probably been pioneering a growing culture in the Tamil cinema industry where it is witnessing a transformation from hero-centric movies to story-centric movies. 

The fans say that the first half of the movie was excellent and Vikram will surely be a blockbuster movie. The movie-making was done in sheer brilliance and every star has their say and space. The audiences have lauded Lokesh for balancing an ensemble cast without harming the crux of his story. Besides Chennai, Vikram has been getting great reviews in several countries including the UAE and the United States. 

Kamal Haasan is back on the big screens after four years. His last movie was Vishwaroopam 2 and this time, Ulaganayagan would taste an outstanding comeback through Vikram. Vikram has been made as an action thriller movie. While Lokesh Kanagaraj has helmed the movie, it is bankrolled by Kamal Haasan under his own banner Raaj Kamal Films International. 

While Kamal Haasan plays the lead role, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Arjun Das, Narain, Harish Uthaman, Kalidas Jayaram, Antony Varghese, Shivani Narayanan, and Ramesh Thilak had played important roles. Actor Suriya has won hearts through his cameo appearance. Anirudh has composed the music and the movie has been made on the budget of Rs 80 crore. Vikram had several deferments in release until locking on June 3. Initially, it was scheduled for release in mid-April 2022. The team has adjusted the release date due to the scheduling of several other big-budget films and production delays caused due to the pandemic. Vikram has also been released in Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi.
