"Lots of love and respects"...Karthi gives a shouout for two superstars of Kollywood!

The sensational historical drama, Ponniyin Selvan was a hit with the cinebuffs, who have showered praise on the cast. The Manirathnam multi-starrer epic currently holds the third-highest box office position among Tamil movies, earning 300 crores worldwide. Actor Karthi, who played a major part in the movie and received applause from everyone, took the time to thank his favorite senior Kollywood superstars. He claims that Rajinikanth's joy is "always endearing" and that Kamal sir "always inspired us to seek bigger goals."

The Mani Ratnam directorial stars Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in key roles, and Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Lal, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu, and Aishwarya Lekshmi in pivotal roles. Karthi plays Vallavarayan Vandhiyathevan in the film, as a central character who garnered appreciating lauds for his perfectly twinning the role as per the original novel.

Amid the wishes, Karthi took to Twitter, and dedicated a post by penning a grateful note on Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth, which reads, "Kamal sir you have always inspired us to seek bigger goals and set higher standards in cinema but more importantly you have taught us to love & respect one another and how to express that in these moments. Lots of love and respects. - Karthi''

Another note reads, "Rajini sir, A call from you is extremely special. Your courtesy to reach out to others to appreciate their work and the joy give us is always endearing. Thank you sir. Lots of love and respects - Karthi"

Pertinent to note that Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Hassan, himself a fan of Kalki's, he watched the film premiere with the actors, Vikram, and Karthi on Thursday at Jazz cinemas in Chennai.

With cinematography by Ravi Varman, music for the film was created by music legend AR Rahman. The second part is scheduled for release in 2023 and is backed by Mani Ratnam's own production banner, Madras Talkies, and Allirajah Subaskaran's label Lyca Productions. Ponniyin Selvan was released on 30th September after keeping it as a 'dream project' for Mani Ratnam, for more than 30 years.
