Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Maaveeran is not just a fantasy action thriller, but also a rare collaboration between two of the most popular and versatile actors in Kollywood.  While Sivakarthikeyan plays the titular role of a superhero who fights evil forces, Vijay Sethupathi lends his voice to a mysterious character who guides and supports him throughout his journey.

The film, directed by Madonne Ashwin, who won the National Award for his debut film Mandela, has been generating a lot of buzz ever since its trailer was released. The trailer showed Sivakarthikeyan looking up at the sky frequently, as if he was listening to someone. This sparked curiosity among the fans, who wondered who was the voice behind the unseen character.

The makers finally revealed the surprise on Tuesday, with a promo video that confirmed Vijay Sethupathi’s voice-over in the film. Sivakarthikeyan took to Twitter to thank his “dear brother” Vijay Sethupathi for his kind gesture and expressed his happiness to join his voice in Maaveeran. The makers took to Twitter and dropped the exciting update, as they wrote, "Thank you 'Makkal Selvan' @VijaySethuOffl avargal for lending voice to our #Maaveeran  Experience in theatres this Friday".

The film will also release in Telugu as Mahaveeradu, with Ravi Teja giving the voice-over for Vijay Sethupathi’s character. The film is expected to be a visual treat for the fans of both the stars, who are eagerly waiting to witness their magic on screen.

Maaveeran marks the first time that Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi have come together on screen, albeit in different capacities. Both the actors have carved a niche for themselves in the industry, with their diverse choices of roles and genres. They have also shared a cordial relationship off-screen, and have often praised each other’s work.

The film also stars Aditi Shankar, who makes her debut as the female lead, Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Saritha, Sunil and others. The film also boasts of a six-track, composed by Bharath Sankar. The cinematography is by Vidhu Ayyanna and the editing is by Philomin Raj. Maaveeran is produced by Shanthi Talkies and distributed by Red Giant Movies. It is slated to release in theatres on July 14.
