As Ponniyin Selvan devotees still didn't came out of 'Ponni Nadhi' fever, the second single 'Chola Chola' rushed to take over the craze after it grandly launched in an event on Friday evening at Hyderabad. Actor Vikram, Karthik Sivakumar, the magnum opus, PS 1 filmmaker Manirathnam, Prakash Raj and Nasser attended the grand audio launch ceremony. Speaking at the event, Manirathnam hinted, "Thanks should be given to Chiranjeevi. But I won't say why. You will know later." The much awaited song has been composed by AR Rahman and Ilango Krishnan has penned the lyrics, where voiced by Sathya Prakash, VM Mahalingam, and Nakul Abhyankar.

The song features Adhitya Karikalan, the lead character played by Vikram and it is a eulogy to the greatness of the Chola Empire. Actor Karthi delivered a heartfelt speech at the song launch event saying that It was a pleasure to work in this film and he learned a lot from his fellow actors, as every character has a separate goal. He said, "I worked for Mani Ratnam as an assistant director. I feel like I played a decent part in this movie now where I was assigned the position that everyone deserves." When he talked about the original novel, he said " Kalki Garu wrote the book titled Ponniyin Selvan. He wrote this novel after doing a lot of research and has created records as the most purchased book. There was a lot of interest in turning this book into a feature film. But now Mani Garu has brought this movie to the big screen. The story is set on land, in the sea, and in the woods. It should be possible for Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman to direct such movies."

Actor Prakash Raj continued, "It is wonderful that such a story is turned into a movie. The idea of turning this tale into a movie was popular. However, the horse must have a rider. Mani Ratnam arrived a long time ago. He has also been contemplating this movie for ten years. Everyone is now finally gathered. Being a pan-Indian actor and performing in all languages are different. The only director from South India with his aesthetic is Mani Ratnam. Baahubali is a made-up narrative. Mani Ratnam, however, discusses relationships and personality. When a film like this is in the hands of someone like that, it is a wonderful experience." Prakash Raj plays Pazhuvettarayar role in the magnefic historical periodic drama.

When the director of this magnum opus Manirathnam spoke, he said, "Thanks should be given to Chiranjeevi. But I won't say why. You will know later. Thanks to Rajamouli. It is because of him that I got the courage to take such a film. He proved that such features can be taken in two parts. Thanks to Tanikella Bharani and thanks to everyone who worked on the film. We are very proud to make this film. I hope everyone will enjoy this film." As per sources, Chiranjeevi might give his voice-over to the Telugu version of the film. But its yet to make an official statement.
