Massive announcement from Suriya...'Jai Bhim' to release on OTT: When and where you can watch?

In what would become his second consecutive movie to release directly on the OTT platform, actor Suriya's most-anticipated movie 'Jai Bhim' is slated to release on the OTT this November, exactly one year after his previous movie 'Soorarai Pottru' released on the Amazon Prime Video and went on to make a blockbuster hit. The confirmation that Jai Bhim is aligned to the OTT release has come on Thursday in parallel with the actor's home production 2D Entertainment has inked a deal with Amazon Prime Video to premiere four new movies, including Jai Bhim, over a span of four months.

On Thursday, Amazon Prime has officially shared the update that Jai Bhim will be released on the platform this November. Taking to Twitter, the OTT giant has said, "Let’s win this case together. What say, @Suriya_offl? Watch #JaiBhimOnPrime this November." The platform has also unveiled a new poster of the movie along with the update. Jai Bhim has attracted significant attention ever since the movie poster was released given its inspiration and the storyline.

As the title denotes the greetings used by the followers of Ambedkar, the movie revolves around a true incident of fighting justice for a tribal woman. The movie is inspired by a legal case fought by retired Madras High Court Judge, Justice KS Chandru, when he was an advocate, in 1993.  While the movie is bankrolled by Suriya and Jyothika under their home banner 2D Entertainment, Jai Bhim is directed by Gnanavel and while Suriya plays the lead role, 'Karnan' fame Rajisha Vijayan plays the female lead.

Actors Lijomol Jose, Prakash Raj, and Manikandan had also been roped in to play important roles. While Sean Roldan composes the music, SR Kathir is taking care of cinematography and the editing is done by Philomin Raj. The first-look poster of Jai Bhim was unveiled on July 23 during Suriya's birth anniversary. The first look poster had awe-struck millions across and beyond the borders for such a project from Suriya and it has indeed surprised many.

The first look poster had shown Suriya as an advocate and a group of backward women standing with starving for justice. Prakash Raj will be playing a police officer and the movie had also roped in real tribal people to showcase their lifestyle. With just two months for the release, the movie team is ramping up the preparations to stale the movie in getting it directly to the hands of the audience. Though the team is yet to finalize the date, the reports in the know say that the movie would possibly clash with Rajini's Annaatthee during Diwali.

On Thursday, Suriya has also announced that his home production banner 2D Entertainment has inked a deal with Amazon Prime Video to premiere four new movies in four months and all these movies are produced by Suriya and Jyothika. While Suriya's Jai Bhim will be releasing on the streaming platform in November, Arisilmoorthy's directorial 'RaameAandalum Raavane Aandalum' will be released on Prime this September. Era Saravanan's 'Udanpirappe' starred by Sasikumar and Jyothika will also be released on Prime Video this October.

While Jai Bhim is slated for release in November, Arun Vijay starred in 'Oh My doG' directed by Sarov Shanmugam will be released in December. Sharing the update of these movies, Suriya had also shared the update of Jai Bhim's release in November. Taking to Twitter, Suriya released the poster and wrote, "Equality is our birth right." In a press release about 2D Entertainment's collaboration with Amazon Prime Video, Suriya said, "The past year has been transformative. From Ponmagal Vandhal to Soorarai Pottru, these beautiful tales found audiences and resonance not just in India, but across the world.
