Modi's disciple vs DMK's hopeful - Who leads in Chennai Mayoral race?

The political drama in the state of Tamil Nadu has been screening again as the state gets prepared to host the local body elections to fill the seats that were remain vacant since 2016. In the wake of citing multiple reasons to justify its move of lowering the possibilities for the elections because of the heated controversies and accusations, the state ruling party has seemingly been urged by the BJP led Central government to flag the elections the sooner with accord to the handful of requests made by the state BJP wing of Tamil Nadu. 

It has been reported that the state BJP leaders had addressed the National President and Union Home minister Amit Shah after which he has been documenting the proposals for conducting local body elections following which Amit Shah had passed the baton of pressure to the state government led by Edappadi Palaniswami, who has been pushed to flag the dates for the elections that have been getting postponed for nearly three years.

While questioned about the notion of BJP, our reliable sources had revealed that the state of Tamil Nadu must undergo the local body elections before 2021 state general elections as the local body have about 1,30,000 representatives of people and the central leadership of BJP hopes to have 35% of the seats for its camp towards enhancing the party's presence in the state. By citing their motive, BJP has been expecting about five mayoral seats, twenty five municipal chairman seats and more than 40 seats from rural and remote areas to reach the people, from its allied ruling party ADMK.

The sources had pictured the wavelength of Edappadi Palaniswami who strongly thinks that the election without the alliance from BJP may bring in more barriers to the party which had already faced and been facing hardships and with accord to that, he had sent two of his top ministers to Delhi to table the meet with the BJP leader and Union minister Piyush Goyal after which they had accorded to the terms and conditions of the BJP party in the local body elections. While inquired about the stand of ADMK, most of the leaders had admitted about BJP's seat demand and added that the Chief minister will most likely finalize the dates for the elections as the allotted local body funds haven't been released by the Central government by citing the lack of local electoral bodies.

The top leaders of BJP had demanded the ruling ADMK government to allot Chennai mayoral seat for its candidate as they believe that their presence play pivotal role in 2021 state assembly elections. The sources inside the circle of BJP leadership had indicated that there are possibilities the BJP can announce Modi's closest disciple Prithvi, a 29 year old man as its candidate for Chennai mayoral elections. He has been in direct contact with Prime minister Modi himself, who, if announced, will set tough fight for the state opposition party DMK's likely candidate Udhayanidhi Stalin. As possible names have been triggered, it has been expected that the candidates and the parties will flag tug of words between each other.
