OPS breaks down in tears...VK Sasikala comes to console him!

Expelled ADMK's General Secretary VK Sasikala has met ADMK's coordinator and former Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam in Chennai on Wednesday and expressed her condolences to him over his wife's demise. The visuals of Sasikala solacing Panneerselvam have been going viral across social media as the meet between the nemesis amid the grieving hours has become the talk of the town. Panneerselvam was breaking into tears at the hospital where his wife had passed away and Sasikala has held his hands and consoled him. 

Panneerselvam's wife Vijayalakshmi has passed away on Wednesday - September 1, in Chennai at the age of 63 due to cardiac arrest. She had been hospitalized for the past few days and she suffered a cardiac arrest in the morning hours of Wednesday and despite the efforts from the doctors, she had breathed her last. According to our sources, Vijayalakshmi was getting treated at a private hospital in Perungudi, Chennai for a fortnight after she complained of health complications.

She was getting treated in the Intensive Care Unit and was showing signs of improvement. When she was nearing to get discharged, she had suffered a sudden heart attack at 5 am on Wednesday and despite the treatment from the doctors, she had breathed her last at around 6.45 am. Panneerselvam and Vijalalakshmi had three children and the eldest being Raveendranath Kumar, who is the lone ADMK Lok Sabha MP representing his home turf Theni constituency. 

After learning about the demise of Panneerselvam's wife, several political leaders in Tamil Nadu had visited the hospital and expressed their condolences by meeting Panneerselvam in person and his family members. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, DMK leaders Duraimurugan, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Sekar Babu, Ma Subramanian, and Thangam Tennarasu had arrived at the hospital and consoled the former Deputy Chief Minister. 

Panneerselvam was surrounded by senior ADMK leaders including Edappadi Palaniswami, SP Velumani, C Vijayabaskar, Sengottaiyan, RB Udhayakumar, and Manoj Pandian as the entire leadership of ADMK had camped at the hospital to give comfort to Panneerselvam and his family members. The leaders had also solaced Panneerselvam's sons and daughter. Among the leaders who paid tribute to Panneerselvam's wife is expelled ADMK's General Secretary VK Sasikala.

Sasikala had arrived at the hospital along with her relative Vivek. She met Panneerselvam in the midst of the ADMK leaders and expressed her condolences. Sasikala sat near Panneerselvam and when he broke out with tears over the loss of his wife, Sasikala has held his hands and consoled him and she was seen talking to Panneerselvam's son and ADMK MP Raveendranath Kumar. When Sasikala has arrived, Edappadi Palaniswami has left the place to avoid any eye-to-eye contact with his rival. Chief Minister MK Stalin took to Twitter and wrote, "The demise of Vijayalakhsmi is a disaster for ADMK's Coordinator and Deputy Opposition leader O Panneerselvam. I express my deepest condolences for Panneerselvam and his family members." 

The official press release from the hospital has said that Vijayalakshmi was about to get discharged on Wednesday. However, she suffered a cardiac arrest at 5 am and she passed away at 6.45 am. The reports say that the last rites of Vijayalakshmi will take place on Thursday- September 2 in Theni. It must be noted that this is the first time that Sasikala has met Panneerselvam in over four years since the latter had revolted the party against the rise of Sasikala following the demise of Jayalalithaa.
