PM Modi arrives in Ayodhya, offers prayers to Ram Lalla ahead of the groundbreaking ceremony!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Ayodhya for the groundbreaking ceremony of Lord Ram temple and he is expected to lay the foundation stone for the construction of the temple at around 12.30 pm in the presence of important dignitaries, priests, and seers. 

In what has been claimed as one of the grand events, the ceremony has drawn huge attention across and beyond the borders. The Prime Minister has left Delhi around 9.30 am on Wednesday and landed in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh at around 10.30 am following which he boarded the chopper of the Indian Air Force and arrived in Ayodhya for the Ram Mandir event at around 11.30 am. 

 

Upon landing, the Prime Minister was received by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after which the Prime Minister drove to the 10th century Hanuman Garhi temple prior to reaching the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. According to the reports, Prime Minister Modi has visited the Hanuman temple as per the tradition and the temple was completely sanitized earlier on Wednesday. 

 

Following his visit to the Hanuman temple, he will proceed to Ram Janmabhoomi for the 'Bhoomi Poojan' and he will offer prayers to Ram Lalla and lay the foundation stone for Ram temple. 

The Prime Minister has been accompanied by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister. The Prime Minister was presented with a headgear, silver mukut, and stole by the head priest of the 10th century Hanuman Garhi temple.

 

He will be laying the foundation stone around 12.30 pm and the event will be attended by 175 important people including the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandipen Patel, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, and the chief of the Ram temple trust. Veteran BJP leaders LK Advani, who led the Ram temple movement, and Murali Manohar Joshi will be virtually joining the ceremony from Delhi owing to the COVID-19 virus spread. 

 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister had asserted that the event will take place by adhering to the health protocols and guidelines. So far, two temple priests and 16 policemen at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex and senior BJP ministers and Uttar Pradesh BJP Chief have been tested positive for the viral infection and the ceremony is taking place amid the rapid virus spread. 

 

Earlier, the group of women activists has asked the Prime Minister to refrain from attending the ceremony by citing that the matter of faith and freedom of religion is a personal choice and fundamental freedom of every citizen. On Tuesday, Advani said that Ram Mandir will represent India as a strong nation and he further said that it will be a historic and an emotional day for him and for all Indians.
