Kollywood gets a sensational stir when the leading Tamil actor Soori has been the under a raid by the Commercial Tax department which said on Wednesday that searches were carried out on Tuesday at Amman Hotel in Madurai which is owned by the actor. During the investigation, it was discovered that the food items were appropriately purchased without GST and charged without GST.

Theppakulam, Government Hospital, Reserve Line Junction, Oomachikulam, Narimedu, Othakadai, and other significant intersections in Madurai were among the locations where the hotel is run by the well-known Soori and his brother under the name of Amman Restaurant. These eateries are constantly crowded with consumers because of their popularity and variable servings.

In this instance, the public accused them of levying food charges without GST. Based on that knowledge, five members of the Department raided Amman restaurants in the Madurai neighbourhood of Kamarajar Road near Theppakulam. The investigation found evidence of product purchases involving tax avoidance and it was discovered that goods were purchased in bulk without paying the GST tax. Following that, they sent a notice to the manager and owner of the restaurant. Additionally, it is claimed that actor Soori has been told to appear in court within three days.

In the Tamil film industry, Soori is a well-known comedian. His career began with small-screen serials, and today he is a well-known comic entertainer in Tamil cinema. In 2019, the actor opened the first branch of his restaurant, Amman, in Madurai where Sivakarthikeyan grandly opened the hotel. On the work front, the actor stars in the upcoming Vetrimaran movie Viduthalai, which is currently in production.
