The Lokesh Kanagaraj universe is expanding with more stars joining the cast of his upcoming film Leo. The Tamil action extravaganza, starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, has already roped in Sanjay Dutt as the villain and filmmakers Mysskin and Gautham Menon as actors.

Now, the latest addition to the ensemble is none other than Anurag Kashyap, the acclaimed director and actor from Bollywood. Anurag Kashyap, who has directed films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Black Friday and Ugly, has also acted in several movies such as Akira, Imaikkaa Nodigal and Ghoomketu.

A few months ago, he said he wanted to shoot a death scene with Lokesh Kanagaraj since the director offers his players such magnificent deaths. He finally got what he wanted when Leo signed him, while the specifics of the role are being kept under wraps.

Leo is one of the most anticipated films of the year, as it marks the second collaboration between Lokesh Kanagaraj and Thalapathy Vijay after the blockbuster Master. The film also features Trisha, Arjun, Priya Anand, Mansoor Ali Khan and Sandy in pivotal roles. The film is being produced by Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio, with music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa.

The first look of Leo was unveiled last month, showing Vijay in a rugged avatar with a lion tattoo on his neck. The film is reportedly set in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which includes Kaithi and Vikram, and there is a high chance for an opening ending for a part 2. Leo is expected to release later this year on a major festival date.
