When Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the stage shortly after inaugurating the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh he was over the moon and emotional as he addressed the nation after accomplishing what remained one of the political dreams of the BJP.  When the party was taking its shape on the national arena, construction of the Ram Temple was among its top promises and as the Modi regime has executed it, it is expected that the party's political and religious strength would surge ahead of the general elections.

With the presence of over 8,000 people including Hindu saints and celebrities, the consecretion ceremony has been on the headlines the whole day. After adhering to the rituals, the Ram Lalla idol in the sanctum sanctorum was given life in the presence of Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and the chief of BJP's parent body RSS, Mohan Bhagwat.

After the consecretion, the Prime Minister addressed the gathering and the nation and cited that Ram Lalla is finally here after centuries of wait. He said that after years of struggle, 'Ram Lalla is here' and that he is still shaking from the spiritual experience of the inauguration of Ram Temple. The devotees of Prabhu Ram, in every corner of the country and the world, are deeply feeling this. This moment is divine, this moment is the holiest of all."

Narendra Modi has also lauded the Supreme Court judges who delivered a landmark verdict in the Ram Mandir- Babri Masjid dispute in 2019. "The legal battle over the existence of Lord Ram went on for decades. I would like to express my gratitude to the judiciary of India for doing justice", he added. Narendra Modi went on to say that Lord Ram is the spirit of the Indian Constitution.

He also aligned Lord Ram with the faith and law of India. The Prime Minister said, "Ram is the faith of India. Ram is the foundation of India. Ram is the idea of India. Ram is the law of India. Ram is the prestige of India, Ram is the glory of India, Ram is the leader and is the policy. Ram is eternal and when Ram is honoured, its effect does not last for years or centuries, its effect is for thousands of years."

As the temple was inaugurated, Narendra Modi said, "Ram Lalla will no longer stay in a tent." "After the patience that we showed for centuries and the sacrifices we made, our Lord Ram has finally arrived", he added. The Prime Minister further vowed, "January 22, 2024 is not just a date, but the beginning of a new era. The construction of Ram Mandir has filled people with a new energy."

Ahead of the consecretion of the Ram Temple, Narendra Modi had held a spiritual tour to important temples across the nation and has also observed a 11-day special fasting, drinking only coconut water and sleeping on the ground. Following the inauguration, he ended his fast as he was hailed by the gathering. Speaking about his spiritual tour, he said that during the fasting period, he tried to bow before all the places where Lord Ram had visited.

He visited Lepakshi temple in Andhra Pradesh, Guruvayur temple in Kerala, and Srirangam and Rameswaram temples in Tamil Nadu. As the final leg of his spiritual tour, he visited Gothandarama Swamy in Rameswaram's Arichal Munnai, which is believed to be the starting point of Ram Setu.
