RRR's director mentions this acclaimed Tamil film as a must watch! Makers go over the moon

Renowned Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli recently expressed his admiration for the Tamil movie ‘Aadukalam’ in an interview with an American national channel. When asked to recommend some Indian films to the audience, the ‘RRR’ director promptly mentioned ‘Aadukalam’ as one of the must-watch movies.

Director when host asked him to suggest Indian films that Americans would adore. Rajamouli replied, "Shankaraparanam, Munna Bhai MBBS, Pandit Queen, Black Friday, Vetrimaran's Aadukalam". The makers of "Aadukalam" responded to Rajamouli's mention of their film by taking us to Twitter and shared their appreciation. The tweet read, "Our hearts are gladdened to have one of our country’s finest filmmakers appreciate our project Aadukalam. Thank you, Shri SS Rajamouli, for your kind gesture for mentioning our movie in the list of your highly recommended movies."

The film was the second directorial venture of Vetrimaran, which released in 2011. The movie features actors Dhanush, Kishore and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles and revolves around the sport of rooster fighting in rural Tamil Nadu. The film was critically recognized for its authentic portrayal of the sport and garnered several accolades, including six National Film Awards. GV Prakash Kumar composed the film's music.

Rajamouli, who is known for his blockbuster movies and now the momentous, globally acclaimed RRR, has been a prominent figure in the Indian film industry turning heads across the globe with multiple awards and recognition. The film was released on March 22, 2022, and the maverick filmmaker is now busy with the promotions of "RRR" for the Oscar campaign which the event will be held on March 12, 2023.

The period drama just bagged four honors at the Hollywood Critics Association Awards for the Best International Film, Best Action Film, Best Stunts, and Best Song categories. The ensemble cast includes  Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Makarand Deshpande, and Olivia Morris, among others which composed by MM Keeravani.
