From Rs 1 crore donation to MK Stalin's wishes...'Jai Bhim' Suriya wins hearts!

Exactly a day ahead of the release of 'Jai Bhim', actor Suriya has touched everyone's heart by donating the fund to the welfare of the Irula tribe, the community for which he fights for justice in the movie. Suriya has garnered immense commendation from across and beyond the borders for coming forward to lift up the tribal community. The actor is surfaced with more respect so does the movie by receiving positive reviews from the critics and political leaders. 

On Monday, Suriya has handed over a cheque of Rs 1 crore to the members of Pazhangudi Irula Trust in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for the welfare of the Irular community. The donation was made by Suriya's 2D Entertainment and the actor's wife Jyothika was present at the event. The production house took to Twitter and wrote, "Rs. 1Cr was donated towards the welfare of the Irula Tribe, by @Suriya_offl Sir & #Jyotika Ma’am on behalf of 2D in the presence of our Hon'ble Chief Minister of TN @mkstalin the cheque was handed over to Justice K. Chandru (Retd) & members of Pazhangudi Irula Trust."

Jai Bhim is a legal drama film that will be getting released on November 3 on Amazon Prime. Bankrolled by 2D Entertainment, the movie is directed by TJ Gnanavel and while Suriya plays the lead role, Prakash Raj, Rajisha Vijayan, Lijomol Jose, and Sibi Thomas in important roles. Jai Bhim is based on a true incident that happened in 1995 where former High Court Justice Judge Chandra fought for justice for the Irular woman when he was an advocate. 

The movie talks about the custodial torture and caste discrimination faced by the tribal community. Besides Tamil, Jai Bhim will be released in four other languages - Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. A day ahead of the release, the movie team had screened the preview show for the media persons and along with the media persons, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin had also watched the movie on Sunday and lauded the movie team for excelling the piece that would create a change in the society. 

The Chief Minister took to Twitter and wrote, "(Jai Bhim) is the best work of art that made an impact in the minds of the audience and as a result, make a positive change in the society. Yesterday, I have watched Jai Bhim in which (my) friend Suriya had lived as advocate Chandru. The movie has created massive impact". After watching the movie, Suriya and his wife Jyothika had handed over a cheque of Rs 1 crore to retired Justice Chandru and the members of Pazhangudi Irula Trust in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin and his wife Durga Stalin. 

Reacting to the donation, MK Stalin said, "Suriya deserve much praise for not only making the movie but also for donating Rs 1 crore for the welfare of the tribal community. My wishes and compliments to the entire movie team. The movies like Jai Bhim should come plenty." According to reports, Suriya had made the donation for the welfare as well as for the education of the students who belong to the Irular community. As the movie has earned a pile of positive reviews, the ardent fans of Suriya await to watch the movie on Amazon Prime and it's certain that Jai Bhim will become a crucial picture in Suriya's career like his last one 'Soorarai Pottru'.
