Rs 1,500 crore in a month...Mega fundraising drive of BJP and other Hindu groups!

Months after the groundbreaking ceremony, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has been in the process of initiating the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh in the land that was in strong dispute for several decades.

The Supreme Court of India had in 2019 brought the dispute to an end after granting the Hindu groups to take ownership of the disputed land and build the Ram temple. After releasing the model of how the temple will be constructed, the trust has launched a fundraising drive to raise money for the construction.

Within a month of its launch, the fundraising drive for the construction of Ram Mandir has raised Rs 1,511 crore from across India as the construction of what has been one of the BJP's propaganda is showered by the rains of money from every direction. The fundraising drive was unveiled by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra in an effort to raise funds across the country for the construction.

On Friday, Govind Dev Giri, the treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, which is the government- installed trust for the temple construction, has revealed that the fundraising drive has raised Rs 1,511 crore. The fundraising drive had begun formally on January 15 and is expected to curtail down on February 27. Speaking to ANI, Govind said that the trust aims to cover over 4 lakh villages and 11 crore families across the country as part of the fundraising drive.

According to reports, the effort of the trust's fundraising drive has been aided by the lakhs of people across the country including the members of the Hindu outfits like RSS, Vishva Hindu Parishad, and the Central ruling BJP party. The members are traveling across the country and going door to door to raise funds for the construction of the Ram Mandir.

The trust is accepting donations in cash up to Rs 20,000 and the donations above Rs 20,000 are accepted in the cheque. The trust has asserted that the fundraising drive has been transparent and it also has installed an app to track the flow of money and the district in-charges of the trust have been directed to upload data of those who have donated for the temple and they have also been tasked to disclose the bank details and the details of the receipt issued after making donations.

Treasurer Govind Dev Giri said that the trust has raised Rs 1,511 crore till now since the launch of the donation drive and the raised money has been deposited in the account of the trust. The trust is collecting the donations through three bank accounts with the State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB), and Bank of Baroda.

The trust has also been providing UPI options for making donations and along with the banking options, the members of the Hindu outfits are also distributing coupons of Rs 10, 100, and Rs 1000 and they have been receiving the funds through these coupons. Last August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of the temple amid large-scale celebrations from the ruling BJP.  The Prime Minister had laid the foundation stone in the presence of the Uttar Pradesh Governor, RSS Chief, and hundreds of saints and seers.
