S.J. Suryah’s comeback as a director with this top star's shelved project! The actor director drops the surprise update...

Director-actor S.J. Suryah, who is currently riding high on the success of his two most recent films, "Maanaadu" and "Don," has stated that he would like to direct again and bring back the long-delayed project "Arunachalam VS Chithra" (AC), which was originally announced many years ago but was subsequently scrapped for unknown reasons.

Simbu was set to portray both a mobster and a farmer in the film, with Asin in the female lead. ‘Arunachalam VS Chithra’ was one of the most anticipated films in Kollywood as it brought together two of the most sensational filmmaker cum actor in the South. 

S.J. Suryah, who had delivered blockbuster films with top heroes such as Ajith in ‘Vaali’, Vijay in ‘Khushi’ and Mahesh Babu in ‘Naani’, and he last directed Isai in 2015. And Simbu, who had impressed the crowd with his both intense performance and directorial debut in ‘Vallavan’. The film with SJ Suryah was said to be a romantic comedy.

However, the film never took off and was shelved in the initial stages itself. The reason for dropping the film was never revealed by either of the parties involved. The film joined the list of several other films in Kollywood that were shelved in the past such as ‘Kettavan’, and ‘Mirattal.

Fansare now excited to hear about t he possibility of reviving the film and are hoping that it will materialize soon. It remains to be seen if Suryah will be able to convince Simbu and Asin to reprise their roles or if he will have to look for new actors for his dream project. Meanwhile, Simbu earlier also revealed that he is going to helm a film as his last directorial debut was Vallavan.
