Strange but true: This Telangana man makes a call for '100' six times after his wife refused to cook mutton curry!

In what has become the weirdest event, the Telangana police have arrested a man, who called for the police emergency number '100' six times to complain against his wife for not cooking mutton curry. After identifying the troubling man, the police have booked a case against him and they came to know that he was in an inebriated state.

According to reports, 28-year-old Naveen is a native of Cherla Gowraram village in the Nalgonda district. He had been working as a labourer. During the night hours of last Friday, he had gone to his home under the influence of alcohol. While on his way home, he had bought mutton in a stall and after reaching his home, he had asked his wife to prepare the mutton curry. However, his wife went upset after seeing Naveen's inebriated condition and refused to prepare the mutton curry.

As his wife didn't listen to him, Naveen got angered and he dialled the police emergency number '100' to make a complaint against his wife for not preparing the mutton curry. He had asked the police officials to intervene in the matter. The Sub-Inspector of the local police station said, "The staff at the emergency control room initially thought it was a prank call and they disconnected it. But, Naveen continued to dial 100 with the same complaint and we were notified after six calls."

Based on the information, the patrolling team of Nalgonda police had gone to Naveen's residence. However, the officials didn't arrest him immediately as he was under the influence of alcohol. The police had booked a case against Naveen under sections 290- punishment for nuisance and 510 - misconduct in public by a drunken person of the Indian Penal Code.

The officials had arrested Naveen on Saturday morning on the grounds of wasting the time of police by dialling the emergency number for an irrelevant matter. The reports say that during the investigation, Naveen had confessed that he had committed the mistake under the influence of alcohol. Naveen's action had put him in distress and frustration as after knowing the incident, his neighbours had begun to make fun of him.
