Struggling to accept Puneeth Rajkumar's death: Ten fans of Power Star die in Karnataka!

The untimely demise of Sandalwood Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar has created a void in Indian cinema and an adverse impact on his fans as they are still struggling to accept the hard fact that the actor is no more. The demise of the 46-year-old actor had come from nowhere and has caused a wave of shock across and beyond the borders. Hundreds and thousands of fans are taking the demise of the youth icon as their personal loss and some of the diehard fans of the actor has still been suffering from a mental trauma that the most loved man had left them all of a sudden. 

Shockingly, some of the fans are ending their lives while some had died of cardiac arrest after hearing the death of the actor. According to reports, Karnataka had recorded ten deaths of his fans so far of which seven had died by suicide while the rest three had succumbed to cardiac arrest. It's exactly been a week since Puneeth Rajkumar had breathed his last and the death of ten power star fans had poured more melancholy. The reports say that multiple cases of attempts to suicide have been recorded across the state since the death of Puneeth Rajkumar. 

The elder brothers of the deceased actor, Shiva Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar had appealed to the fans not to take such extreme steps. Besides being the doyen of Sandalwood, Puneeth Rajkumar was widely known for his philanthropy and social services. He also had followed his father and legendary actor Rajkumar's footsteps in donating his eyes. As Puneeth desired, his eyes were donated after his death and they are now giving vision to four young people in the state. 

Following Puneeth's footsteps, some of his fans who died after the actor's demise had written a note to donate their eyes. It has been reported that Bharath, a fan from Tumkur had committed suicide by hanging at his residence on November 3rd, had left a suicide note in which he had written, "Unable to bear the pain of loss of Appu (this is how Puneeth was fondly called by his fans), I am going to be with him. Please donate my eyes just like him." On the other hand, another fan Rajendra, a resident of Anekal, Bengaluru, had died by suicide to donate his eyes like Appu. 

The reports say that Rajendra was telling his family members that he wants to donate eyes like Puneeth Rajkumar. Rajendra was at Tirupati when he learned about the demise of the actor and after hearing the news, he immediately returned to Bangalore and he had eventually committed suicide on October 31. There were several other incidents where the fans had committed suicide to donate their eyes. Speaking to a news agency, the chairman of Narayana Nethralaya hospital has said that a large number of people have been pledging to donate their eyes following Puneeth Rajkumar. 

Puneeth Rajkumar was fondly called a Power star and for his fans, this Diwali was filled with dusk as he had passed away on October 29 in Bengaluru at the age of 46 due to cardiac arrest. He had complained of chest pain while he was working out in a gym during the morning hours of October 29 and he was immediately rushed to the hospital. He was brought in a critical state and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Despite the treatment, Puneeth had breathed his last during the same day and left his fans to grieve incessantly. 

The death of the young icon had drawn attention from across and beyond the borders and his body was kept at Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru for the public to pay homage. In an unprecedented fashion, lakhs and lakhs of people had flooded towards the stadium and paid their tribute to the deceased actor. Puneeth Rajkumar's body was laid to rest last Sunday at the Kanteerava Studio with full state honours and several political leaders had paid tribute to the power star, who had left a remarkable legacy. He was survived by his wife Ashwini Revanth, and two daughters, Vandhitha and Drithi Rajkumar.
