BJP has seemingly fueled the anger by forming a committee to submit the report to the leadership, even after being aware that the death of the student is being probed by the Tamil Nadu police.

The final call would be taken by the Chief Minister and it will be made public when the government announces a new set of restrictions or relaxations for next month. 

The event has spurred uproar as several leaders have been staunchly reprimanding the officials and the video of the heated argument at the RBI premises was doing rounds on social media. 

Earlier this week, Tamil Nadu Minister SS Sivasankar has tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time in eight months.

The upward trend may begin to plunge from next week even as the the state has been preparing to roll out the drive of inoculating the Covid-19 vaccine booster doses. 

Sivasankar, who is among the club of first time ministers, has taken to social media and said that he had contracted the pandemic and has mild symptoms. 

The state health department has been prepared to roll out special camps for the booster doses along with the mega vaccination camps. 

The notice has directed the Zee Channel to provide its comments on the complaint to this Ministry within a period of seven days, failing which further action will be initiated. 

The development has come when Tamil Nadu has recorded more than 20,000 Covid cases on Thursday for the first time in several months with active cases breaching 1 lakh cases. 

The people who fail to wear the masks properly will also be brought under the ambit of violation and will be fined.
