On Tuesday, the Tamil Nadu government has allocated Rs 50 crore from the CMPRF to procure life-saving drugs to treat COVID-19 patients and get liquid oxygen from other states. 

Tamil Nadu has recorded 16,31,291 COVID-19 cases so far as of Monday of which 2,31,596 are active cases, 13,81,690 have been discharged, and 18,005 had succumbed to the viral infection. 

Also known as Shailaja teacher, she has earned an immense reputation across and beyond the borders with several media quoting her as the slayer of COVID-19. 

In its bail order, the court has slammed the police and said that the law enforcement agency should not arrest someone before the police can satisfy themselves on the reasons behind the arrest. 

"It's time for us to stand in solidarity. NGOs and volunteers helped us during the last lockdown. It's our turn to give back", Transwoman Mahesamma said over her contribution.

Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi said that they were not yet satisfied with the numbers that they have achieved. 

The ADMK leaders said that the party's elected members in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will also donate one month's salary to CMPRF.

Rajinikanth's donation has come days after his younger daughter Soundarya had donated Rs 1 crore.

Satav was admitted to a private hospital in Pune and he was put under ventilator support. He had then recovered from the pandemic but died of a bacterial infection.

The committee would meet at regular intervals and frame and discuss the containment efforts and measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
