In the midst of the national mourning, the British Government has been inviting world leaders to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

"Queen Elizabeth II will be long remembered for her dignity, decency in public life and her unwavering commitment", MK Stalin wrote in his tribute note.

Recalling the interesting past, Kamal Haasan has also mourned the loss and extended his condolences to the people of the UK and the members of the royal family.

As the second Elizabethan era has come to an end, the UK and other royal realms will begin a new era under King Charles III. 

Ascended to the throne at the age of 26, Elizabeth stood as a towering monarch and witnessed personal divisions to global disputes. 

The air of grieving was all across the UK, on everyone's faces and in households as they were struck by what would be a piece of painful news in their lifetime. 

Elizabeth is now succeeded by her eldest son, the long-time heir apparent, Prince Charles and who from now be called King Charles III. 

The citation of honour noted, "He was knighted for services to literature in 2007. He is also a storied author of non-fiction, an essayist, co-editor, and a noted humanist." 

A statement from Buckingham Palace said, "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh."
