The state government has mandated that the teachers and all other staff members of the schools and colleges must have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccines before attending the classes.

As the crucial resumption is just a week ahead, it has been reported that the schools across the state will initially be conducting refresher classes for the students.

He was addressing reporters in Trichy on Saturday during which he threw more weight to the government's affirmation of reopening the schools on September 1.

As the Covid-19 threat hasn't been fully mitigated, the government has released a slew of guidelines to the schools that need to be followed during functioning.

However, the students are counting days of wait for the final decision as the government is yet to divulge the confirmation that the schools will be reopened from September 1.

Earlier, the government has also instructed the school education department to initiate measures to work out the resumptions from September 1 by adhering to the Covid-19 protocols. 

The pandemic spread has disrupted normal lives and confined the students to get settled for a new normal and to have a hold on their studies online. 

Such a bridge course would be first in the state and the institutions say that it's imperative for the students to have a good start in colleges. 

Its neighbour Tamil Nadu has also planned to monitor the parameters taken by the Union territory in reopening the schools, that are kept closed for more than a year. 

Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said that a report would be submitted to Chief Minister MK Stalin on the measures taken for school reopening in Puducherry.
