Vijayalakshmi had lodged a complaint against Seeman a few months ago under the grounds of cheating.

The police department alleged that Seeman's address had instigated hatred and violence between two communities and it was against the government. 

Despite most of the Tamil Nationalists had disputed with his speech, Seeman repeatedly pressed that he ate tortoise meat while addressing the open stages and the campaign trails.
