After a five-year hiatus, Vaigaipuyal Vadivelu is returning to theatres in a film titled after one of his famous on-screen personae, Naai Sekar.

Lyca Productions is bankrolling Naai Sekar Returns, and on Monday, the production company made the surprising announcement by releasing the first single with a full video version. 

The first single comes as a surprise to many as the song features the vocal from Vadivelu and it is choreographed by Prabhu Deva.

Vijay Sethupathi's ardent fans are awaiting the release of his much anticipated movie 'Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir', which is scheduled to get released in December.

Vadivelu is making a comeback with a slew of films. He is currently working on Chandramukhi 2, Mamannan, and Naai Sekar Returns. Additionally, he disclosed that he is also working in an untitled film with Vijay Sethupathi.Vadivelu was last seen in Mersal, starred Vijay in 2017.

To make the occasion memorable, the movie team of Naai Sekar Returns released a new poster and it was going rampant across social media. 

For the first time, Mari Selvaraj and Udhayanidhi Stalin will join hands with Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman as he will be composing the music for Maamannan.

The shocking development of Vadivelu and Suraaj testing positive for the pandemic had prompted the entire crew members of the movie to isolate themselves.

While Vadivelu had on Friday tested positive for the pandemic, director Suraaj had confirmed to have contracted the viral infection on Sunday and he is also been hospitalized.

The 61-year-old actor has recently returned from London after a movie shooting and the reports say that he had undergone testing in Chennai, which has now returned positive.
