Thalapathy Vijay's Pre-Political prelude: A collaboration with this maestro filmmaker for an intriguing Political Thriller!

The fans of Thalapathy Vijay are in for a treat as the star is reportedly in talks with ace director Shankar for a massive project in the near future. The duo had earlier collaborated for the 2012 blockbuster Nanban, which was a remake of the Hindi film 3 Idiots. Now, they are likely to join hands again for an original script that will be a hard-hitting political thriller.

According to sources, Shankar has narrated a one-liner to Vijay and he is happy with it. The director is currently busy with his two upcoming films, Indian 2 and Game Changer, which are expected to release early next year. Once he wraps up these projects, he will start working on the script for the Vijay-starrer in the first half of next year.

Shankar is one of the most acclaimed and influential directors in Indian cinema, who has made several landmark films and he is known for his grand vision and technical brilliance, as well as his social messages and patriotic themes. His upcoming film Indian 2 is a sequel to his 1996 film Indian, which starred Kamal Haasan in a dual role. His other film Game Changer is a Telugu action thriller starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani.

The duo's film could be Thalapathy 70, as Vijay has already confirmed his 68th film with Venkat Prabhu and AGS Entertainment, while his 69th film is still under wraps. The news of Vijay and Shankar’s collaboration has created a huge buzz among the fans and the industry insiders, as both of them are known for their mass appeal and commercial success. 

Vijay is one of the most popular and highest-paid actors in Tamil cinema, who has delivered several hits like Mersal, Sarkar, Bigil and Master. His next film Leo, which was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, releasing this October 19th, and in the latest brewing development, the star actor has been speculated to enter politics for a long time.

Recently, he met the members of his fan association, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (VMI), and discussed his political plans with them. Eventhough Vijay has not officially announced his political ambitions yet, but the actor has been dropping hints about his political entry in his films and speeches.
