Then Modi, now the United Nations! How this Madurai girl got recognition by helping the poor?

Helping poor and needy without expecting any favor in return would ultimately pay off in some way of honor and recognition. For Nethra, a 13-year-old girl from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, the recognition for what she has done for poor has knocked her doors from the United Nations and while her father got a compliment from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she has got hers from the UN, which is the global and powerful organization.

Nethra is a daughter of Mohan, who runs a salon shop in Madurai district and Mohan has got nationwide attention when Prime Minister Narendra Modi called out his name in his 'Mann Ki Baat' radio address to the nation that he gave on May 31st amid the Coronavirus outbreak and lockdown.

In his address, the Prime Minister lauded Mohan and Nethra for contributing their lifetime savings of Rs 5 lakh to help poor and vulnerable people who have been affected in their locality in the wake of the lockdown that has brought the economy and the daily lives to a standstill.
