Thiruchitrambalam, Dhanush's most recent film, is undeniably one proof of how mindful he is about the films he picks. The Asuran actor experienced yet another huge success with the Mithran R. Jawahar-directed film, which tells the tale of a delivery driver navigating life while residing with his strict policeman father, sassy grandfather, and super cool best friend.

With a total worldwide gross of 100 crores, the movie still is holding strong. It even outperformed the actor's previous superhit films, taking first place. Thiruchitrambalam is compelling evidence that audiences are still willing to go out of their way to watch feel-good movies and family-friendly genre films.  In the year prior, Dhanush last appeared on movie screens in the 63-crore-grossing film Karnan.

Dhanush and Nithya Menen starred Thiruchitrambalam had also surpassed the box office of Asuran, which grossed Rs 51 crores. Vada Chennai has brought around Rs 50 crores to the coffers and according to reports, Thiruchitrambalam made into the club of Rs 100 crore box office by earning Rs 110 crores in fifteen days.

The movie got released on August 18 and on the first day of its release, it has earned Rs 9 crores and within two weeks, it has grossed over Rs 100 crores, maintaining its place on the top list. For Mithran Jawahar, Thiruchitrambalam was the fourth collaboration with Dhanush after Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Kutty, and Uthamaputhiran.

Thiruchitrambalam is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his own banner Sun Pictures. While Dhanush played the lead role, Nithya Menen, Prakash Raj, Bharathiraja, Raashi Khanna, and Priya Bhavani Shankar have appeared in important roles. Anirudh has composed music and the story of the movie centres on two close friends who end up falling in love. The movie was made on a budget of Rs 30 crores and it has grossed over 100 crores at the box office, making it one of the thumping movies of 2022.
