Trending Buzz: This famed composer to work for Karthi's Sardar 2 and this iconic actor to play the villain!

Fans delighted to know that the sequel to his blockbuster hit Sardar has been officially announced after the release of the part one. Now PS Mithran directorial is on the cards and it promises to be bigger and better than the first part.

Sources say that Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing the music for Sardar 2, replacing GV Prakash who scored for the first part. There is also an exciting buzz that Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the villain in Sardar 2, making it a clash of titans between him and Karthi. However, this is not confirmed yet. Sardar 2 will have Vijay Prakash following the footsteps of his father and embarking on a new mission. The details of the plot, cast and crew are yet to be revealed.

Sardar, which released on October last year, received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. The film showcased Karthi in dual roles as a police officer and a spy, and he impressed everyone with his performance and versatility. The film also had a stellar star cast including Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Panday, Laila, Rithvik and Munishkanth.

The film was directed by PS Mithran, who is known for his research work and strong screenplay.  The film ended with a cliffhanger that hinted at a possible sequel. And now, Sardar 2 is indeed happening. The announcement was made at the success meet of Sardar, which took place on October 25 in Chennai.

The makers also released an announcement teaser for Sardar 2, which has gone viral on social media. The teaser shown Karthi’s character Vijay Prakash being recruited as a spy by a top official, after being disgraced as the ‘son of a traitor’ and fired from the police department. The teaser ends with a suspenseful note as Vijay’s handler wonders what his code name should be.

Sardar 2 is expected to go on floors soon and will be made on a huge scale. The film will be produced by Prince Pictures in association with Red Giant Movies. Karthi is currently busy with his other projects such as  Raju Murugan’s Japan, and with Nalan Kumarasamy. He will join the sets of Sardar 2 after completing his prior commitments.
