The year 2023 kicked off with a bang when Vijay and Ajith's movies, Varisu and Thunivu, went head-to-head in theatres. Superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan, meantime, are getting ready for their next projects, Jailer and Indian 2, respectively, on a massive scale. There have been rumours that after 15 years, these two would meet again in a conflict. If this turns out to be true, there will be a huge party for the admirers.

Reputable sources believe, fans will see the historic showdown in the same year. It has been reported that both Rajini's "Jailer" and Kamal's "Indian 2" would have their release dates set for Diwali 2023. The last time they clashed for were Chandramukhi and Mumbai Express in 2005. Bankrolled by Sun Pictures "Jailer"  has music composed by Anirudh who also handles the scores for Indian 2. The film features an all-star cast including Rajinikanth, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, and Yogi Babu.

The film is directed by Nelson Dhilipkumar. Rajinikanth is currently shooting his crucial phases of Jailer at Jaipur, and the golden city of Jaisalmer on Tuesday. And the shooting will be around in this desert zone for around two weeks. This whopping flick is being made on a budget of Rs 175 crore and will see Rajinikanth, Mohan Lal and Shiv Rajkumar working together for the first time.

On other side, Kamal Haasan and Shankar picked up where they left off shooting "Indian 2" last year, and they've made significant progress since then. The new schedule is rumoured to last roughly 15 days, during which the squad would relocate to South Africa. Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies are the film's producers. The production team and director Shankar want to wind up filming by April, with a release date of Diwali 2023 in sight.
