Dhanush, who is currently busy with his magnum opus Captain Miller, is all set to start his 50th film as an actor and director soon. The film, tentatively titled D50, is going to be a multi-starrer where he will also don the director’s hat. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film has already created a lot of buzz with its star cast and genre.

According to the latest reports, D50 will feature Dhanush, Sundeep Kishan, and SJ Suryah as brothers, with SJ Suryah playing the eldest one. The story of the film will revolve around their family and their struggles in the backdrop of North Madras.

An insider report from TOI, reveals, "Dhanush, Sundeep and SJ Suryah will be seen playing brothers (with SJ Suryah as the eldest one) in the film, and the story — set against the North Madras backdrop — will revolve around their family."

The film will also have Vishnu Vishal, Kalidas Jayaram and Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles. Vishnu Vishal is expected to play the lead role opposite Dushara Vijayan, who made her debut with Pa Ranjith’s Sarpatta Parambarai. Kalidas Jayaram will be seen in a supporting role as a friend of Dhanush’s character.

The music for D50 will be composed by none other than Isai Puyal AR Rahman, who has earlier worked with Dhanush in films like Raanjhanaa and Maryan.  D50 is Sun Pictures’ second collaboration with Dhanush as a production house after last year’s blockbuster hit Thiruchitrabalam.

Earlier, they distributed three of his films — Padikkadavan, Mappillai, and Aadukalam. The film is likely to go on the floors by the end of this year and is expected to release in 2024. Dhanush’s fans are eagerly waiting for his 50th film as it marks a milestone in his illustrious career.

The actor has also several other projects lined up with directors like Sekhar Kammula, Mari Selvaraj, Vetrimaaran and Nelson Dilipkumar. With D50, he is all set to showcase his versatility and talent as an actor and a director once again.
