After several postponements, Indian 2 is getting revived which poured a sense of excitement to the fans. Helmed by Shankar, Indian 2 had a puja ceremony on - August 24. While Kamal Hassan plays the lead,  Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Rakul Preet Singh play the female lead.

Fans are aware of Kamal Hassan's commitment to the film industry, but the latest interview with Free Press Journal by Rakul Preet Singh, even more, confirms the Ulaganayagan's effort and commitment on set. She says, "I have to tell you like Hindustani, he has prosthetics in this film too. He is playing a 90-year-old character in this film. The prosthetic makeup takes four to five hours. He reaches at 5 a.m. so that he is on the sets by 10 a.m."

She added that Kamal had been part of cinema for more than 60 years. She says, "Removing the prosthetic makeup takes two hours and it’s so hot in Chennai but he does not care. I think that’s a different generation. I think in 100 years, he has been part of cinema for more than 60 years. More than 75 per cent of the time he has existed, he has been part of cinema. Nobody knows cinema better than him".

Along with the leads, Siddarth, Bobby Simha,  Guru Somasundaram, and Samuthirakani will play crucial roles. Anirudh is composing the music, and the cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman, who also worked for Manirathnam's Ponniyin Selvan, while the editing is done by Sreekar Prasad.

With Indian 2, Shankar and Kamal Haasan will collaborate for the first time in 24 years. The movie was delayed for a number of reasons, and now, after several hold-ups, Indian 2 is being resurrected and anticipated by the cinephiles. Subaskaran is bankrolling Indian 2 under his banner Lyca Productions.
