After the success of Viruman, Ponniyin Selvan, and Sardar, Karthi joins hands with Raju Murugan to start his next project that has been titled 'Japan'. The first look poster of the movie was unveiled on Monday - November 14 and it promises Karthi's quirky ride. Raju Murugan previously helmed romantic dramas Cuckoo, Mehandi Circus, Gypsy, and the political satire, Joker, which garnered a National award.

Actor Karthi took to Twitter on Monday and unveiled the colorful punchy first-look poster, by writing, "Excited to start this journey of a quirky guy! #Japan - Made in India. #JapanFirstLook". The poster features the actor in a funky avatar, hinting that his role in the film is overwhelmed with luxurious life. Karthi lies on the sofa with the after-effects of a wild party, where in the background, a picture of himself framed on the big wall, donned in all gold.

On one hand, he wields a gold-platted machine gun, and on the other hand, a blingy, 3D model of the globe. It is the first time that Karthi is collaborating with Raju Murugan and while Karthi plays the lead role, Anu Emmanuel plays the female lead. Bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures, Japan has roped in GV Prakash to compose the music.

The technical crew of this film also includes Ravi Varman for cinematography, Anbariv for stunts, and Philomin Raj for edits. Vinesh Banglan is the production designer. The film crew held a pooja ceremony last week before commencing to shoot on floors.
