Trending Talk: Is this the story of Dhanush's Captain Miller?

The much-awaited film of Dhanush, ‘Captain Miller’, is all set to hit the theatres on January 12, 2024. The film, directed by Arun Matheswaran, has a runtime of 2 hours and 37 minutes and promises to be a thrilling and high-octane action ride for the fans.

The story of ‘Captain Miller’ has been revealed on social media by a booking site, and it has created a lot of buzz among the fans. The film is about a militant who joins the freedom struggle against the British-led Indian military, after witnessing a brutal massacre of his people. The film showcases the journey of Dhanush’s character from a loyal soldier to a rebellious leader, who inspires others to fight for their rights and dignity.

It's worth mentioning that Captain Miller, Vallipuram Vasanthan, a member of Black Tiger of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), who was affected and suffered by the victims of the Black July anti-Tamil riots. The LTTE demolished the base by with the help of Captain Miller as a manly explosive, as he volunteered to drive a bomb-filled vehicle into the heart of the base.

This incident made Vasanthan become the first suicide bomber of LTTE, followed by his death. 5 July became Karumpuli Naal (Black Tigers Day), a day for Tamils across the world to commemorate all Black Tiger "martyrs". Meanwhile, earlier the filmmaker in an interview said that he titled the movie inspired by the movie, 'Saving Private Ryan' - John.H.Miller, commonly called Captain Miller. Fans have to wait to witness the film, as its based on true story or totally varied venture.

The film has been shot in various locations across India and also has John Kokken, Edward Sonnenblick, Nivedhithaa Sathish, Vinoth, Kishan, Nassar, Alexx O'Nell, Elango Kumaravel, Viji Chandrasekhar, "Merku Thodarchi Malai" Antony, Bala Saravanan, and few others in pivotal supporting roles.

The film also features a powerful soundtrack by G.V. Prakash Kumar, and  Siddhartha Nuni as the cinematographer, Madhan Karky as the dialogue writer, and Nagooran as the editor. ‘Captain Miller’ to face a tough competition at the box office, as it is clashing with two other big releases, Sivakarthikeyan’s sci-fi comedy ‘Ayalaan’, and Arun Vijay’s action thriller ‘Mission’.
