Actor Siddharth, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Takkar’, has opened up about his experience working on ‘Indian 2’, the much-awaited sequel to Kamal Haasan’s 1996 hit film ‘Indian’. The actor shared how privileged he feels to work with two of his gurus, Kamal Haasan and director Shankar, and also thanked the latter for the opportunity.

Having the chance to work with actor Kamal Haasan on the film "Indian 2" was a "once in a lifetime" experience for Siddharth, who admired the actor's previous films. He also told the fans that the highly anticipated sequel would be 10 times better than what they had been expecting from the movie. The actor, who has a significant part to play in the movie, has been cagey about discussing his character.

Moreover, he claimed that he had gone silent in recent years because he didn't want his social media activity to influence his producers and director. It's worth mentioning that the actor made his lead debut through Shankar's Boys. ‘Indian 2’ is a vigilante action film written and directed by Shankar, and produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies.

The film stars Kamal Haasan as Senapathy, a freedom fighter turned vigilante, along with Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram and others. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while Ravi Varman and Rathnavelu handle the cinematography.

The film’s shooting began in January 2019 and took place in Chennai, Rajahmundry and Bhopal. The shooting was halted following an accident on the sets in February 2020, leading to death of few crew members. Production had been suspended since then owing to numerous factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, cost overruns and legal disputes.

However, the film’s shooting resumed in August 2022 in South Africa, where some crucial scenes were filmed. The film is expected to release in Tamil, Telugu and other languages in 2023. Fans are eagerly waiting to see Kamal Haasan reprise his iconic role of Senapathy after 27 years, and also witness Siddharth’s performance in a Shankar film.
