Tughlaq Durbar (OTT and Television):
Touted to be a political thriller, Tughlaq Darbar will be streaming on Netflix from September 11. While the movie is bankrolled by SS Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studios, it is directed by debutant Delhi Prasad Deenadayalan. Vijay Sethupathi plays the lead role and Raashi Khanna plays the female lead and the movie has been baked with an ensemble cast including Parthiban, Manjima Mohan, Sathyaraj, Bhagavathi Perumal, Karunakaran, and Gayathrie. Parthiban will be rivalling against Vijay Sethupathi and the music is composed by '96' fame Govind Vasantha.
Initially, the makers had initially decided to release the movie in the theatres, the release was deferred owing to the closures of the theatres following which they looked for an OTT release. However, as Sun TV had acquired the broadcasting rights before inking the deal with Netflix, there had been an issue between the stakeholders on who will premiere the movie. After episodes of talks, the movie team has reached an agreement that the movie will be released directly on Sun TV at 6.30 pm on September 10 and on Netflix on September 11. It would probably be the first movie to enjoy a parallel release on popular platforms. Late last month, Netflix has released the trailer of Tughlaq Darbar and it has garnered a huge reception.
Laabam (Theatres):
While Laabam may become a big treat for the fans of Vijay Sethupathi, it is a movie where the Tamil industry will pay its respect to prominent director SP Jananathan, who passed away earlier this March due to a cardiac arrest. SP Jananathan was a National Award-winning director and Laabam was his last movie. Recently, the makers of the movie had announced that Laabam will be released in theatres and it will be released on September 9, a day ahead of the release of Thalaivi.
While Vijay Sethupathi plays the lead role, Shruti Haasan will be playing the female lead. The movie is jointly produced by Vijay Sethupathi and Arumuga Kumar and D Imman will be composing the music. The movie has roped in Jagapathi Babu, Sai Dhanshika, Ramesh Thilak, and Kalaiyarasan in important roles.
Annabelle Sethupathi (Disney + Hotstar):
It is yet another much-anticipated movie of Vijay Sethupathi and Annabelle Sethupathi is directed by Deepak Sundarajan. Suggested to be a horror-comedy picture, the movie will be streaming on Disney + Hotstar from September 17. While Vijay Sethupathi and Taapsee Pannu play the lead roles, actors Jagapathi Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Radhikaa Sarathkumar, Suresh Menon, Yogi Babu, Vennela Kishore, George Maryan, and Devadarshini will be playing important roles.

Kadaisi Vivasayi (Theatres):
Kadaisi Vivasayi is a comedy drama film helmed by 'Kaaka Muttai' fame M Manikandan. While an eighty-five-year-old farmer named Nallandi plays the lead role, Vijay Sethupathi will be playing a crucial cameo appearance. Bankrolled by Tribal Arts Production and Eros International, Kadaisi Vivasayi will be distributed by Reliance Entertainment and Jio Studios. Musical maestro Illaiyaraaja has composed the music and Yogi Babu, Muneeshwaran, Kali Muthu, Chaplin Sundar, and Raichal Rebecca Philip will be playing important roles.
The reports say that the movie will most likely get released during the third week of September and while Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music, Sam CS has done the background score. Kadaisi Vivasayi has been on the queue to get released for several months and sources say that it has joined the club of Happy 'Vijay Sethupathi' September.
