Vaathi: Dhanush’s action drama tops Netflix charts! Check out the period drama's impressive feat...

Dhanush's latest movie Vaathi has been making waves still after the debut on theatres, The film which made its OTT debut after a month of theatrical run, and now its Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil versions are currently trending at the top three positions on the streaming platform, which is quite an impressive feat. Vaathi marks the first collaboration between Dhanush and director Venky Atluri, who is known for his romantic entertainers. 

This period drama so also marks Dhanush's debut in Telugu cinema, and he has done a commendable job portraying the role of Balamurugan, a young teacher in the 1990s. Samyuktha Menon plays the leading lady in the movie, which boasts of a brilliant soundtrack composed by GV Prakash Kumar that has been receiving a lot of love from the audience.

Popular film tracker took to Twitter and shared the impressive feat by sharing the OTT giant's Top in India column, where the film holds the first three positions, after the film started streaming from March 17th, 2023. Produced by Suryadeva Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments and Sai Soujanya of Fortune Four Cinemas, Vaathi is presented by Srikara Studios.

Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studio has acquired the distribution rights for the film in Tamil Nadu. The movie was released in theaters on February 17th, 2023. The film also has a talented ensemble cast that includes Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Rajendran, Shrutika and others, and it revolves around a young man who fights against the privatization of education.

Apart from this, the drama also set a new benchmark in Dhanush's career by becoming his highest-grossing movie till date. It has surpassed all previous records by crossing the ₹118 crore worldwide gross mark. The film's satellite rights have been bagged by Sun TV. On work front, the actor currently pursuing shooting schedules for Arun Matheswaran's Captain Miller, and he will move on to next Vadachennai 2 with Vetrimaaran.
