Vijay Sethupathi invites trouble on his birthday: How his celebration has gone wrong?

Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi has celebrated his birthday on Saturday and amid being in the rain of birthday wishes from the fans and celebrities, his birthday celebration has gone wrong after he invited trouble for what the netizens charged as a bad precedent. After getting caught up with the flak, the actor had regretted and offered an apology for his action. 
 
Vijay Sethupathi had turned 43 on Saturday and a photo of the actor cutting the cake with the sword has been doing rounds across social media. The photo went viral triggering debate and controversies with many of the users had criticized him over his act of cutting the cake with the sword, which disturbed his fans. Many netizens had flayed the actor for setting a bad precedent and the users had raised the question of whether he would face a legal strike from the police department. 

The act of cutting the cake with the sword had shocked the fans as it has happened when the state has been witnessing several such incidents where some of the hooligans in the city were booked and charged for using a sword to cut the cakes. The police had given a legal blow to such incidents and Vijay Sethupathi's act has echoed the slew of incidents following which he had released a statement asking apology. 

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, the actor clarified the background of the photo with a sword. He said that the photo was taken three days back at a shooting spot of his upcoming movie with director Ponram in which the sword has a role. In his statement, he said, "According to the movie's story, a sword will play an important role. So, I cut the cake with that sword when I celebrated my birthday with the crew of the movie". 

The actor admitted that the incident has stirred a debate. He said, "the incident has stirred a debate with many commenting it as a bad precedent. Henceforth, I will carefully deal with such issues and I'm apologizing for the act if it had hurt anyone".  Vijay Sethupathi has emerged as one of the influential actors of the Tamil cinema industry through his brave and remarkable acting and presenting some of the everlasting movies in all genres.

Vijay Sethupathi's braveness and audacity were apparent when he has played antagonist against actor Vijay in the recently released 'Master'. The movie has become a Pongal treat for the fans and audiences and it hit the screens on January 13. Vijay Sethupathi plays as Bhavani in the movie delivering the real taste of villain while Vijay clashes with him to save the children in the juvenile center. The movie has been dominating the box office with significant revenue and relishing reception across and beyond the borders. 

Vijay Sethupathi has more projects in his kitty and he is currently working with Ponram. The actor has SP Jananathan's 'Laabam' which roped in Shruti Haasan as a female lead and Vijay Sethupathi also has teamed up with Vetrimaaran for the first time for an upcoming project with Soori in the lead. Apart from these movies, Vijay Sethupathi also Tamil projects like Tughlaq Darbar and Vignesh Shivn's Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal.
