Vijay Sethupathi says 'NO' to the salary as he is all set to join hands with this popular director for the first time!

After bracing up a setback sparked by what has been criticized as flawed acting in the last three movies that had a successive release last month, Vijay Sethupathi is all set to join hands with the popular Kollywood director for the first time as he has been under an imperativeness to set his trajectory right by changing his strategy of selecting movies. Fondly called Makkal Selvan, Vijay Sethupathi had come through an episode of negative reception recently like never before.

Vijay Sethupathi's movies 'Laabam', 'Tughlaq Darbar', and 'Annabelle Sethupathi' were released last month only to push the actor into a cyclone of trolls and advice. The moniker that he earned had taken a huge hit with his fans advising him not to sign every movie that comes before him. He was surfaced with the voices that yearned to see the Vijay Sethupathi who inspired and entertained them through the movies of 'Pizza', 'Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara', 'Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom', 'Soodhu Kavvum', 'Vikram Vedha', '96', and 'Master'.

A section of his fans had expressed that Vijay Sethupathi should consider his strategy of accepting every movie and he was trolled that he has been running for money at the cost of his versatility and that he must introspect himself before okaying any movie. As the actor had met with the never-seen scale of criticisms, the sources say that he has now accepted a movie directed by popular filmmaker K Bhagyaraj. More importantly, Vijay Sethupathi has accepted to act in the movie without getting paid.

It has been reported that Bhagyaraj has discussed a story with Vijay Sethupathi recently and after he liked it, he took the offer to play in the movie. While it was touted to be a short film, Bhagyaraj has now been planning to add more segments and present an anthology to the audience. The story is in the making and the team will hit the floors soon. This will be the first time that Vijay Sethupathi is going to work with Bhagyaraj, who had directed over 25 Tamil movies.

Meanwhile, another short film of Vijay Sethupathi 'Mugizh' will hit the theatres on Friday - October 8. On Tuesday, the makers had unveiled the teaser of 'Mugizh' through which Vijay Sethupathi's daughter Shreeja will be making her debut in acting. While Shreeja plays the lead role, Vijay Sethupathi and Regina Cassandra will be featuring in the supporting roles as Shreeja's parents. Bankrolled by Vijay Sethupathi Productions, Mugizh is directed by Karthik and the crew is filled with many new faces with Revaa as the music director while Sathya Ponmar and Govindaraj had done cinematography and editing respectively.
