Vijay Sethupathi's movie sets a 'WOW' record...Huge honour for Tamil cinema!

In a relishing piece of news for the ardent fans of Vijay Sethupathi, the actor's recently- released movie 'Maamanithan' has etched a 'WOW' record by winning an award from the prestigious Tokyo Film Awards 2022 under the category of the Best Asian Film. 

The announcement about the honour was made on Tuesday and Maamanithan was conferred with the Golden Winner award. Sharing the announcement, Seenu Ramasamy took to Twitter and wrote, "Category (Best Asian Film) Golden Winner. Happy to share our Maamanithan feature film won Tokyo Film Awards 2022. Thanks to the producer." 

The movie earned accolades a month ago from veteran filmmaker Shankar, who praised actor Vijay Sethupathi for his outstanding performance in director Seenu Ramasamy's "Maamanithan," saying that he deserves a national award. Senior actor Raj Kiran of Tamil cinema also added his praise, saying he was impressed with the film.

The movie has now successfully established its status as an award-winning work by winning the Best Asian Film category at the Tokyo Film Awards 2022. The official page of the Tokyo Film Awards listed the granted awardee in a  banner. Under the Best Asian Film category, Nomadic Doctor - directed by Mart Bira got the Bronze win while Love song at 5 p.m. - directed by Takahiro Kawabe got the Silver win.
