Tamil actor Vijay, who recently announced his entry into politics, has revealed that he will be completing one more film before dedicating himself to public service. The actor who is currently shooting for Venkat Prabhu’s GOAT, has signed his 69th film with acclaimed director Karthik Subbaraj, who is known for his edgy and innovative films.

Vijay, who has a massive fan following across the state, recently declared his political ambitions in a statement, saying that he has been preparing himself for a long time by learning from various leaders and movements.

He said that politics is not a hobby for him, but his deepest desire, and that he wants to serve the people of Tamil Nadu as his debt of gratitude. He also assured his fans that he will not let his film commitments interfere with his party work, and that he will fully involve himself in politics after completing his 69th film.

Sources close to Karthik Subbaraj's project have confirmed that the film will be a political thriller, with Vijay playing a role that will reflect his real-life aspirations and ideologies, as it will mark his last film. The film will also feature SJ Suryah, who impressed the audience with his notable role in Karthik Subbaraj’s previous film, Jigarthanda 2. The music for the film will be composed by Santhosh Narayanan, who has collaborated with Karthik Subbaraj in all his films so far.

The film will be produced by Kalanithi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures, which has backed some of the biggest blockbusters. The official announcement of the film is expected to be made soon, after Vijay wraps up his current film with Venkat Prabhu. The film is likely to go on floors later this year and release in 2025.
