Viral: After 8 years... this legendary singer collaborated with AR Rahman for a song in Ponniyin Selvan 2!

Ponniyin Selvan fever is once again back to fire as the epic drama to be released on next month. Now the relishing news is that renowned playback singer KS Chitra has lent her voice for a song in the much-anticipated Tamil film 'Ponniyin Selvan 2', directed by Mani Ratnam. The veteran singer herself confirmed this during a press meet at a event.

A video on social media lately circulating, where the seasoned singer KS Chitra disclosed that she sung a song in PS2 and it took 5 hours to complete. The legendary singer has collaborated with music maestro AR Rahman once again, after having previously mesmerized fans with her soulful rendition of Malargal Keten' in the hit film 'Ok Kanmani', composed by AR Rahman back in 2015.

With Chinna Kuyil Chitra's mellifluous voice and Rahman's enchanting music, the song is sure to be a treat for the ears of music lovers. The accomplished singer, known for her mellifluous voice, has a decorated career in the Tamil film industry, having sung in over 25,000 songs. Her collaboration with AR Rahman has produced many memorable hits, including 'Kannalane', 'Strawberry Kanne', 'Uyire', Kannamoochi Yenada and others.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 is a historical epic drama, based on the novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The film features an ensemble cast of top-notch actors, including Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, and many more. The film will be released on April 28th 2023, and an official update on trailer and audio launch will soon be confirmed by the makers.

The film has been shot by cinematographer Ravi Varman and edited by Sreekar Prasad, and was produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies. The magnum opus's plot revolves around the Chola dynasty and is based on the novel 'Ponniyin Selvan' written by Kalki Krishnamurthy in 1950. The OTT rights sold to Amazon Prime Video and the satellite right bagged by Sun Tv.
