Dhanush, the versatile actor and director, dropped the relishing update with his latest announcement on D50. He has kick-started the shooting of his second directorial venture, tentatively titled ‘D50’, which is expected to be a gangster drama with a lot of action and emotion.

The actor shared a striking poster of the film on Twitter, featuring him with a bald head and a bloody shirt, wielding a lethal weapon. The poster also unveils that the film is a Sun Pictures production with music by the maestro AR Rahman. Dhanush captioned, "#D50 #DD2 Shoot begins @sunpictures Om Namashivaya".

The poster has created a huge buzz among the fans and the film industry, as many are curious to see what Dhanush has in store for them as a director. Dhanush made his directorial debut with ‘Pa Paandi’ in 2017, which was a heartwarming tale of an ageing stuntman. ‘D50’ seems to be a completely different genre and scale, and promises to showcase Dhanush’s talent and vision as a filmmaker.

The details of the cast and crew of ‘D50’ are yet to be announced, but some reports suggest that SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali and Kalidas Jayaram are part of the project. The film is said to be shot in a single stretch for 90 days in a huge set erected on ECR, where over 500 houses have been constructed. The team is planning to release a glimpse video of the film soon to give a sneak peek into the world of ‘D50’.

Interestingly, Dhanush was spotted in his bald look at Tirupati temple recently, along with his sons Yatra and Linga. The actor had visited the temple to offer prayers and get his head tonsured as a form of worship. The fans were amazed by his killer look and wondered if it was related to his upcoming film ‘D50’. Some even called him ‘Mottai Boss’, referring to his iconic character from ‘Pudhupettai’.

Dhanush is one of the busiest actors in Indian cinema, who has been juggling multiple projects in different languages. He has recently wrapped up the shooting of his portions in Arun Matheswaran’s ‘Captain Miller’, which is a war drama set in Sri Lanka. He has also announced his next Hindi film, titled ‘Tere Ishq Mein’, with Aanand L Rai, who had earlier directed him in ‘Raanjhanaa’. He has also made his Telugu debut with the blockbuster film ‘Vaathi’.

With such an impressive line-up of films, Dhanush is surely on a roll and is all set to entertain his fans with his diverse and dynamic roles. ‘D50’ is one of the most awaited films of his career, as it marks his return to direction after four years. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for us with this film!
