Following the success of Vikram, Kamal Haasan has a number of promising projects in the works, including KH 234 with Mani Ratnam, Vikram 2 with Lokesh Kanagaraj, and this legendary Ulaganayagan is is for the second film of Kamal Hassan and Shankar's prestigious project 'Indian', where the actor is currently busy with the production at Tirupathi.

It seems like the crew has chartered a helicopter to fly the Ulaganayagan from Tirupati to the various filming locations and back again where he stays. His aerial debut was captured on camera and has since gone viral on social media. The team is currently purusing shooting scenes in Andhra Pradesh’s Gandikota village reportedly.

The actor's appearance in the viral video shows him sporting the Senapathy look, complete with a clean shave and a refined sense of style; this has increased hype for the film, which is rumoured to feature pivotal period portions that reveal Senapathy's backstory. Kajal Agarwal is also presumed to be included in the current shooting schedule.

The film is set for release in the second half of 2023. In the first part of Indian, Kamal Haasan portrayed Chandrabose Senapathy, a commander in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army. After this, similar events are anticipated for the sequel, which is currently in development. Filmmaker Jeyamohan mentioned in an earlier interview that the sequel's focus is on the father more and the flashback portion is already seen in the first film. Sources also revealed that Kamal Haasan will be seen in a variety of roles from various time periods.

Apart from Kamal Hassan, Siddharth, other notable actors, such as Kajal Aggarwal, Bobby Simha, Rakul Preet Singh, and Priya Bhavani Shankar, are featured in the film. Anirudh Ravichander is in charge of the movie's musical score, which is being produced by Lyca Productions with a lavish budget.
