Chitra was found dead in the wee hours of last Wednesday, which ultimately had shocked the fans and fraternities. While the autopsy report had confirmed that she had committed suicide, Chitra's family and relatives had claimed foul play in her death. The police department has launched the probe into her death and they had taken her husband Hemnath, who was staying with her in the hotel room, and hotel staff for further investigations.

The police had enquired Hemnath for the past six days and following the incessant interrogations, they had on the night hours of Monday arrested Hemanth under the grounds of abetting the suicide. Chitra has got engaged with Hemnath, who is a businessman in Chennai, last August and they had done a registered marriage in October and the reports say the couple had been living in the hotel room, from where Chitra used to go for shooting for soap operas and TV shows.

Following the arrest, Hemnath was remanded and sent to judicial custody for further questioning. The development has come when Chitra's death has been surfaced with speculations and suspicions with several claims. She was found dead in the wee hours of last Wednesday when Hemanth was in the same room. The police had rushed to the spot after the hotel had informed them and her body was recovered and sent to the Kilpauk Medical College in the city for autopsy.

The autopsy report was released on Thursday in which it has said that Chitra had committed suicide. Her body was brought to her home for public homage and it was cremated in Besant Nagar. Though the hospital confirmed that it was a suicide, her family members and relatives had alleged foul play in her death with her mother alleging that she was beaten to death and demanded the police for a fair probe. The police have been investigating Hemnath since Wednesday and they have now arrested him and sent him for judicial custody.

According to reports, the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) has begun its probe on Monday as the law warrants the probe from RDO when a woman who has been married for seven years or less dies in a suspicious manner. The recent reports say that Hemnath was against Chitra's acting in the TV shows, which further led to the dispute between them and the police had earlier said that Chitra had committed suicide due to mental depression given by Hemnath and his mother. It came to light that Hemnath, under the influence of alcohol, had engaged in a fight with Chitra at the shooting spot, and they had a souring relationship.

Chitra's mother Vijaya had asked her to leave Hemnath and it had further pushed her into a deep depression. The probe further revealed that the messages, photos, and audio recordings on her phone were erased. It must be noted that Chitra is one of the popular faces in Tamil Nadu and she rose to fame by acting in the role of Mullai Kathiravan in Pandian stores, which has become one of the most-watched soap-operas in Tamil Nadu and Chitra had gained the limelight as one of the rising talents in the Tamil industry and the reports say that she was said to have signed to play an important role in an upcoming Tamil film.
