Watch: The last video of Manobala with his son touches hearts as fans mourn his death

The Tamil film industry and fans are mourning the loss of veteran actor-director-producer Manobala, who passed away on May 3 at his residence in Chennai due to liver-related problems. He was 69 years old and is survived by his wife Usha and son Harish. Now a video of Manobala with his son in the hospital, where he was taking treatment, has gone viral on YouTube and social media, showing the emotional bond between the father and son.

Amidst his most arduous hours, Manobala reclined serenely on his bed, seeking support to savor his meal. In this tranquil moment, his son Harish Kumar bringing forth a soothing melody to uplift his beloved father's spirits. The video which posted in the late actor's YouTube channel, has touched the hearts of many people who have expressed their condolences and tributes to the late actor. 

Manobala was known for his comic roles and self-deprecating humour in over 450 films. He also directed and produced several hit films in his career spanning over four decades.He also directed nearly 25 films, some of which featured prominent stars like Rajinikanth, Sathyaraj, Prabhu and Sivaji Ganesan.

He was a close friend of superstar Rajinikanth and music director Ilaiyaraaja, who have also offered their condolences to his family.  However, Ilaiyaraaja’s message has sparked a controversy for being insensitive and disrespectful to Manobala’s death. Many fans have criticised Ilaiyaraaja for his remarks on the late actor.

His directorial ventures include Oorkavalan, En Purushanthaan Enakku Mattumthaan, Dhoorathu Pachai and Paarambariyam. He also produced some popular films such as Sathuranga Vettai under his banner Manobala’s Picture House. His last on-screen appearance was in Kajal Aggarwal’s Ghosty, and he will be seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo.
