Watch: Superstar Rajinikanth vows to return to Ayodhya every year, says he is fortunate

The legendary actor Rajinikanth, who is known for his larger-than-life persona, has revealed his plans to visit the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya every year. The star, who is also a devout Hindu, attended the grand inauguration ceremony of the temple on Monday, where he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and exchanged pleasantries.

Rajinikanth, who spoke to ANI after the event, said that he was blessed to witness the historic moment and expressed his admiration for the Ram Mandir project.  The actor, who often visits temples and the Himalayas before his film releases, said that he was drawn to the Ram Mandir by a divine call. He would make it a point to visit the temple every year as a pilgrimage, mentioning, "It was a historic event and I am very fortunate".

A video of Rajinikanth and Modi greeting each other with folded hands and conversing in sign language has also gone viral on social media, with many fans and admirers hailing the bond between the two icons. The inauguration ceremony of Lord Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh has been the topic of discussion throughout the country. On January 22, the nation witnessed a momentous occasion as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the temple in the presence of distinguished dignitaries.

Among the celebrities who attended the event were, Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, Sunil Bharti Mittal, and Kumar Mangalam Birla, and former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Indian actors Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif.
