Watch: 'Vaanga Modi, Vanakkanga Modi'...It's BJP's style of welcoming Modi to TN!

It's election time in Tamil Nadu and the political parties in the state are chalking out the strategies to counter the rivals and to connect close to the people ahead of the assembly polls. The parties are working out to initiate the counter drive against the rivals at all fronts - allegations and criticisms, and in fact, in releasing election songs.

Releasing songs in favor of its leaders is one of the electoral fashions in Tamil Nadu that the parties will follow to take them close to the people. The top parties in the state ADMK and DMK had released such songs to highlight their leaders and to display their achievements and while both the Dravidian parties are racing to circulate their songs through social media and advertisements, Central ruling BJP has now come into the picture.

The Tamil Nadu unit of BJP has on Thursday released a song to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be visiting Coimbatore in the evening hours of Thursday in his bid to strengthen the party's campaign in the state for the assembly polls. In what has become his second visit to Tamil Nadu in ten days, Modi will be visiting Coimbatore to attend the party's event.

The state unit had made a song to welcome Modi with the ingredients of highlighting his governance at the Center and promoting the party in the state. The song is running for three minutes in which senior leaders including state President L Murugan, Vice-President Annamalai, BJP National Secretary CT Ravi,  and BJP National Mahila Morcha President Vanathi Srinivasan had appeared. The song was made in Tamil with the style of Kongu Tamil as Coimbatore lies in the Kongu belt of the state.

According to reports, Prime Minister Modi will be addressing the party event in Codissia, Coimbatore at around 5 pm on Thursday. To give him a grand welcome, BJP National Mahila Morcha President Vanathi Srinivasan had initiated the efforts to make a song to welcome the Prime Minister. The lyrics were penned by BJP's literature wing leader 'Orchestra' Shanmugam and the senior leaders had sung the song along with the singers.

Titled as 'Vaanga Modi, Vanakkanga Modi' ( Welcome Modi, greetings to you), the song revolves around the schemes introduced by Narendra Modi to the people and how they got benefitted from them. The BJP leaders and supporters have been sharing the song and trending the hashtag #TNWelcomesModi to counter the hashtags of opposition #GoBackModi. Tamil Nadu BJP President Murugan opens the song while Vanathi and Annamalai conclude it.

The song has become the party's display of how it is ready to give a grand welcome to the Prime Minister. Narendra Modi had on Thursday morning visited Puducherry and he will visit Coimbatore in the evening during which he would be powering up the campaign of Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami. He will also be inaugurating various projects.

It has also been expected that there would be political discussions during the meet between BJP and ADMK on the alliance. It must be noted that Narendra Modi had landed in South India with no Congress rule in the territory as the grand old party was recently bowled out from South India after its only government in South India - Puducherry was toppled and dissolved. Modi will be leaving for Delhi after concluding the event in Coimbatore and he will again be visiting Tamil Nadu on March 1st, where he will come to Chennai.
